In 1895, this elegant building opened its doors as the original Walnut Hills High School. In 1931, when Walnut Hills High School moved to its new home on Victory Parkway, it became Burdett Elementary School. From the beginning, Walnut Hills High School embodied excellence in education and scholastic achievement. Its college preparatory classes rivaled those of the best private schools in the East. True to the vision of Cincinnati School Superintendent Randall Condon and Principal George Davis, it earned a reputation as one of the finest public high schools in the country – a reputation it enjoys to this day.  Over the years, thousands of students passed through the Schoolhouse’s arched, sandstone doorways.
